Unfortunately, there are hundreds dumped every year at kill shelters throughout KY. One shelter posted that they do not even list TWH dogs for adoption; they are euthanized as soon as their stray hold is up. WHY? Because there are so many of these wonderful dogs abandoned in KY that they can not find local adopters. As a whole, these hounds are SWEET and make WONDERFUL family pets. Autumn was lucky enough to end up in a shelter in ROWAN KY - where a group of volunteers works very hard to pull these dogs to safety. Autumn was scheduled to be euthanized in December due to too many dogs at the pound. The volunteers of STAR pulled her to safety and then she sat in a foster home waiting for a rescue to accept her into their program. Autumn is about 2 years old. She is great with all dogs, does good with cats, loves people and just wants a family to call her own. Autumn is up to date on her shots, spayed, micro chipped, and housebroken. Her adoption fee includes her initial vet visit and 30 days of shelter insurance at a participating vet.
Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
